Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 29, 2010 10:38 am We are about a third of the way through our build and I am trying to get a copy of the plumbing plans for our house (the underground plumbing, sewage and drainage). I have been to the Casey web site and can pay to have the plans sent to me, but will they have this sort of information already or will it not be available until the completion of the build? I don’t want to pay the $25 and find out they don’t have them. Or is there some other way of getting these plans. Surely they would have a copy or at least know where you could get one. I'm actually interested in finding this out too..... a call to my SS may be in order Re: Where can I get the plumbing plans for my house? 3Jun 30, 2010 4:33 pm I tried that but they haven't been able to get them for me Current status: Busy making the house our home Built PD Francis 29 on our 576m2 block at Reflections in Tarneit Reflections Estate Thread Our Build Thread Re: Where can I get the plumbing plans for my house? 4Jul 10, 2010 9:45 pm wizard I tried that but they haven't been able to get them for me The builder or plumber must have a copy of them. They must also have a PIC number (consent to connect) as well. If they don't i would be asking questions. Depending on who your water authority is Sewer plans are available from the likes of City West, Yarra Valley or South East at a cost of around $20-30 depending on the authority. But if one is never submitted by the builder or plumber, you will never be able to access one. Stormwater plans are normally available from council. Re: Where can I get the plumbing plans for my house? 5Jul 26, 2010 2:53 pm Your only hope of getting plumbing plans would be obtaining the "as laid property drainage plan" which only shows underground sewer. This plan should be completed and submitted by the licensed plumber within 7 days of the drain being backfilled/inspected. !!!caution gripe alert.!!! drawing these plans are just another one if those hidden jobs that us plumbers are forced to do by the regulating authorities that the customer ends up paying for. i.e. added to hourly rates. The council should be able to inform you of your "legal point of discharge" in relation to the stormwater, but they will not have any plans regarding the underground stormwater system. sure your working drawing house plans may show them in certain places, but the reality is that stormwater drains are laid by the plumber (or his 1st year apprentice), on the day however he feels like and plans are not required to be drawn or submitted to anyone. you could employ someone with cctv drainage location equipment to find them, but its very expensive. i know because we do it. trust me, i'll put you off so dont even ask. Most of the time plumbers whinge about getting a PIC number (victoria) and all you have to do is fill out a form and submit a plan. Re: Where can I get the plumbing plans for my house? 7Nov 18, 2010 9:47 pm I asked this Q ages ago and basically now I know that the reality is the closests to what Richard said ^. The only way you could know what is where is if you happen to be (freely) on site while the plumber is doing it. Of course, with a video camera and measuring equipment, and of course, then you transfer all the measurements you've done onto a copy of site plan which you prepared earlier My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... If there have been changes, variations, during construction then the drawings should be revised, the building permit amended and the current, as built drawings given to… 2 4481 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13771 Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6885 |
