Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 28, 2010 6:16 pm Hi, I have done a forum search on this but have only found info relevent to QLD. We are in Melbourne and wondering if anyone knows how much exposed aggrigate costs per square metre? We are planning on doing this to our driveway and front path with a brick boarder (possibly to our back areas too or we will go with paving here - not sure yet). Thanks in advance! Re: Exposed aggrigate question 4Jun 29, 2010 4:52 pm i had it done 6 months ago. 40 metres cost me $4000. this included travel costs, he had an 1 hr drive to get here. be careful though, there has been a few driveways done around me , and they dont look very good. so do your homework dont just get any old concreter to do it. the bloke that did mine has done a great job. hes from ballarat, not sure if he would go to melbourne. i could give you his name if you like. cheers........... This didn't include excavation or anything else. For exposed agg, we were quoted $3800 for 35 metres. This also includes a single crossover though in plain and a permit. Hope this helps! Re: Exposed aggrigate question 12Jun 29, 2010 11:07 pm Our driveway is odd shape so I can't work out the exact measurement but it would be around 85 m2 (guesstimate). The area in blue we want to have concreted. For the mix we haven't settle on one yet but something like the ones below from http://www.mentonepremix.com.au/gallery_ba.html Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ or Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ are in favor with both of us. We like light colours and obviously something that works with our facade & colours We also have an area behind the garage 33 m2 (11m x ~3m) that we want to do a deck later on and thinking of getting it concrete (plain / cheap ?) to establish the ground so water don't pond against the house. Builder wanted to charge $3k for this which we did not get done. Or is it better to just build a raised deck directly on the ground? Note the height of ground vs bi-fold door. The concreting is the only large cost item we do not a have a firm figure to budget for at this stage (we better soon). Re: Exposed aggrigate question 13Jun 30, 2010 8:53 am Hey fruitty, I know you didn't ask for comments, but I think the concrete sample on the first pic will go better with your house, as your bricks/house are warmer colours (from mem) like that concrete ... BTW, is exposed aggr. cheaper than stencilled or stamped concrete (at least in Sydney)?? Is stencilled and stamped more or less the same (both in terms of price and production)? Re: Exposed aggrigate question 15Jun 30, 2010 4:10 pm We could whip up a new clause - the party who inserts the largest number of pictures into a thread can claim possession of the thread On a (more) serious note, I think you are right about pricing. Typo!!! My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Exposed aggrigate question 16Jul 01, 2010 5:55 pm Thanks guys! We are going to go with the the same guys that did our builders house recently (His is paved though - Daniel Roberston bricks in a herringbone pattern - stunning!) These guys did the Daniel Robertson display centre. We haven't discussed the finer details with them yet so that's why I was asking about cost - wanted to see what the going rate was. We are thinking mix along the lines as Fruitty's 1st pic so with a brick boarder i guess we will be looking at around the $100sqm mark. Thanks again Re: Exposed aggrigate question 18Jul 01, 2010 8:51 pm mcniks Thanks guys!
