Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 26, 2010 10:09 pm Hi, just need some advise guys. I have just put a deposit for some NSW Blackbutt feature raw timber flooring. I need some feedback on featured blackbutt, as I have been advised that feature timer can crack and split over time where the features are is this correct? Also, though the flooring company was more than happy to assure me that if they was any problems there would fix what's required, there were un-prepared to give warranty on the product. The reason being is that it's raw timber and because of the variables in timber. Is this correct for anyone that's bought raw timber. The installer gives a 1 year warranty on they work, however supplier does'nt. Thanks Re: Advise on Blackbutt Feature Timber flooring 2Jun 27, 2010 11:14 am Feature timber generally means that it has gum vein and knots through it, this shouldn't mean that it is more likely to split. The contractor installing the floor should be able to sort the boards and weed out any that have excessive vein or knots that may cause trouble. The warranty that supplier or the installer will give you generally isn't worth the paper it is written on. They will both either blame the other or fall back on " its a natural product" its suppose to move like that. What did you pay for the boards?
