Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 17, 2007 1:19 pm Can anyone offer up some suggestions for colourbond colours for my shed?
This is my house...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v97/Aaurora/1-1.jpg and we are getting a 5 x 6 metre shed in the back yard. We would like it to tie in with the house colours, but we are not sure about a black tin roof, I reckon that would be too hot! We have a Jasper coloured garage door, and I was thinking that the colours that might look good would be Classic Cream for the walls, and maybe Paperback for the roof? Would we need a contrasting gutter colour? Any suggestions are welcome! http://www.bluescopesteel.com.au/index. ... DB357747A3 Our Adenbrook home was completed in September. Re: Colours for my shed 2Oct 17, 2007 1:25 pm I think Classic Cream Would be too stark as a contrast against your house.
Maybe sandbark for the walls Ironstone for the roof and Jasper Gutters?? Re: Colours for my shed 3Oct 17, 2007 1:30 pm Hi aaurora, i would ask if you want the shed to look similar to the house. By your post i am assuming yes?
My suggestion is then either classic cream or paperbark for the walls and maybe jasper or ironstone for any features. I would suggest keeping the lighter colour on the roof too. Not sure if you mentioned if the shed has a gable style or flat roof? If it's flat you won't see it anyway, so doesn't really matter about colour selection, but if it is gable you could go ironstone, jasper or classic cream or paperbark (depending on which colour you go on the walls). If you select Jasper or Ironstone for the roof, you can get the laserlite apollo sheets and add a panel or two to lighten things up inside. We did that with our kid's cubby in our old place. Sorry if i confused you. Re: Colours for my shed 4Oct 17, 2007 3:29 pm Would it look funny if I had the roof (it's a pitched roof, so not flat) the same colour as the walls and just have the gutter as a jasper to match the features on the house? Would I then have the garage door jasper or have it to match the walls? Our Adenbrook home was completed in September. Re: Colours for my shed 6Oct 17, 2007 5:19 pm Hi aaurora i would stick with lighter colours(classic cream) and darker features (jasper), the only thing is do you have colorbond fences if so you may want a contrast from that.
