Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 23, 2010 2:26 pm Hi, I am DIY-ing up an end apartment (1 common wall + ceiling & floor) and I need to redo the floor and ceiling, and want as much sound proofing as possible; am going to put some acoustic isolation to common wall. I've just removed vermiculite from the ceiling and was planning to replace it with plasterboard (acoustic mounts+insulation/furring channel); and am considering 14mm floating floor with 5mm acoustic underlay. The bare floor-to-ceiling height is 2450, so I figure I've only got 50mm to work with. I checked out using standard materials for ceiling and it goes 11mm under the 2400 limit. What would be my best option for doing the ceiling with max sound proofing?
