Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 23, 2010 9:21 am Hi all, Was hoping I could get some help trying to identify a photo of some bricks that I really like, I found the picture a few months back while doing some searching online so hopefully it is made here in Australia. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2At95VeWIpY/S ... e+Door.jpg Thanks in advance. Leigh Re: Identify the brick ? 2May 23, 2010 10:30 am Hi Leigh I think the brick is Kurrajong by boral its in their basic range, you would have to look at the brick but that is what it looks like to me Soots viewtopic.php?f=31&t=31037 harvard 27 DFH signed contract 16th March 2010 slab down 1st June 2010 frame started 8th June 2010 trusses and frame finished 24th June 2010 tiles almost done 14th July 2010 Bricks started 14th July 2010 Plaster started 28th July 2010 Paint 25th August 2010 Re: Identify the brick ? 3May 23, 2010 10:42 am I was thinking Hawthorn? By Boral? Kurrajong has those textured lines through them and from the photo it's really hard to determine. My advice would be is to talk to brick companies or knock on doors asking people what bricks they have used for their home. Re: Identify the brick ? 5May 23, 2010 10:52 am It could be anything really and without confirming what brick it is it can make identifying this brick quite difficult. Re: Identify the brick ? 6May 23, 2010 6:18 pm Thanks for the replies all, Dollar, that is our intention it's hard to envisage what a house will look like based on a small wall at a display centre but just going out to the new neighorhoods there is life size examples Re: Identify the brick ? 8May 25, 2010 7:07 pm *puts detective hat on* The photo is from the website of a Melbourne garage door business, and that looks awfully like a Porter Davis Prestige facade ....in which case it would have to be an Austral brick, from Vic. Possibly Settlers LaTrobe, Homestead Tan (don't really think so...), Melbourne Hawthorn.... or possibly any one of dozen of others. If you're in Melbourne, you need to go to an Austral display and have a look at what's available - photos rarely show the true colours of bricks. As a clue, I'd guess that there's a good chance the owners didn't upgrade their bricks, since they went for the default facade. Could be wrong, but it's worth asking the Austral rep what the standard range of bricks for PD Prestige includes (they usually know), just to narrow down the search. It looks like off-white mortar has been used too, if that's at all helpful. Re: Identify the brick ? 10May 25, 2010 8:51 pm Pfft. Easy-peasy. I just did a search using the same keywords as the OP (luckily the pic was saved with the search string as part of the file name), then checked Google Images, then clicked through to the website.... And I know my facades. 1 376 2 8359 I should have followed up on this thread.
