Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 22, 2010 4:48 pm Hey All, I know this is a odd request but I am looking for a Builder/Carpenter that may be interested in having me volunteer with their building/renovation work in Brisbane. I'm not looking to get paid, as I already have a full time job, just very keen to learn the trade on my days off and holidays. I have very little experience in trade work, as my career in very unrelated however I am hard working and keen to learn. If you could do with the extra man power, and could teach me along the way then shoot me an email. cjmcmahon83@hotmail.com or reply to this. Thanks, Chris Re: Looking to volunteer in Brisbane to learn the trade 2May 22, 2010 7:47 pm I know this might sound obvious, but I'd be careful about entering an arrangement like this especially if you don't have the skills. If you have an accident at "work", you will want to know you're covered. And then there are the guys who will get you to dig ditches and do other menial stuff. Have you looked into doing short courses for building? Re: Looking to volunteer in Brisbane to learn the trade 3May 22, 2010 11:25 pm Hey d@n, thanks for the reply..
