Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 20, 2010 7:59 am We’ve just had the pipes laid for our house and the slab is going to be poured in a couple of days, however I think there is a problem with our pipes. We have 2 toilets going into the house (from the standard plan), but we have also requested a third sewage pipe in the house because we are going to move the toilet in the ensuite after we move in. I was out there this morning and had a close look at all the pipes, but I can’t work out which ones are for normal waste water (sinks etc) and which ones are for the toilets. The worry I have is that the extra pipe we requested has been hooked up to normal waste and not sewage. Can anyone help me work out what pipes are what? Here is a photo of the pipes if it helps Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Current status: Busy making the house our home Built PD Francis 29 on our 576m2 block at Reflections in Tarneit Reflections Estate Thread Our Build Thread Re: Pipes - Help! 2May 20, 2010 9:30 am I'm no plumber but I always thought that sink and shower wastes also go to sewerage? The only things that don't go to sewerage are storm water, or if you have a grey water recycling then you can put some of your wastes to grey water but not shower or kitchen sink. Arfur Re: Pipes - Help! 5May 20, 2010 3:18 pm This is what I expected, so that means the third toilet pipe that should have been installed is wrong and has been installed as a standard waste pipe. I have my builder looking into it, need to make sure it is correct before the slab goes down Current status: Busy making the house our home Built PD Francis 29 on our 576m2 block at Reflections in Tarneit Reflections Estate Thread Our Build Thread Re: Pipes - Help! 6May 20, 2010 3:36 pm I'm sure your SS will sort it out, but it's a good idea to check anyway, just to be on the safe side. We'd arranged for an extra waste point in the garage, and the plumber doing the under-slab drains missed it. Luckily we did a check count and could see it was absent, so we rang to get it sorted before the slab was poured a couple of days later. BTW, it's only toilets and kitchen sinks that can't be diverted to grey water systems. Showers, baths and laundry sinks are fine.
