Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 19, 2010 12:38 pm Hi, A few months ago I saw a post on here (somewhere) which showed a deck being built at the front entrance under a portico. The deck was laid on concrete. This deck had a doormat which was recessed into the deck with the decking boards forming a frame around the mat. It looked cool and is an idea I want to steal. Is anyone able to help me out in locating this original post? It had pictures showing the steps involved. Re: Help in finding a post 2May 19, 2010 12:58 pm I can't help you with the answer you are looking for (as I haven't seen the post) but I feel for you. It's always a problem trying to locate posts of value. All I can suggest is to use search.php and narrow down your search. Re: Help in finding a post 3May 19, 2010 1:00 pm Sounds as though you might be talking about Kek's front porch! I'll have a quick look and see if I can find it for you... Still searching on here, but I did fine Kek's blog posts about it. Hope you don't mind the links posted here, Kek. http://keksmovingonup.blogspot.com/2009 ... stuff.html http://keksmovingonup.blogspot.com/2009 ... oject.html Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I can't take any credit for it - it was all my husband's design and labour. A lot of sweat and swearing went into that thing. I think I did post some progress pics here somewhere. I'll see if I can track them down or find some others later on - right now I've got to go organise dinner then head out to pick up a kid from work. Back later.... Re: Help in finding a post 6May 19, 2010 11:28 pm Stormy, Southies and Kek, Thank you so much...that's exactly what I was looking for . Kek, if you did have those progress pics available that'd be fantastic. I would never have found this without all of your help Thanks again Re: Help in finding a post 7May 20, 2010 7:28 am Seems I don't actually have all that many photos, but here's what I could find.... The slab ends level with the brick wall of the house. The frame is bolted into the concrete, then stumps added for the areas that extend past the slab. Thanks Tony 10 11401 in the stormwater pit or the drain? Those dont look like theyd fit in the drain. Separately, the pits do get stuff in them during the course of the build.
