Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 29, 2007 12:07 pm Hi guys,
any feed back would be appreciated. One Spec Home builder has quoted the hire costs of a temporary power pole to our building site at $3,500.00. Or by our arrangement with our energy company, we can have a underground power pit installed for approx $800.00. Whilst another builder, has stated that they just take a temporary pole from one of their sites that they have finished using, and put it to ours at no cost. Why is there such a discrepency? What is the standard procedure with spec home buiders regarding temporary power? Thanks in advance. Re: Site Costs - temporary power pole 2Sep 29, 2007 12:44 pm basaad,
My recommendation depends on whether you've signed a contract or not. 1) If you have not signed a contract, find out the "best practice", which looks like moving the one power pole around, and tell any of the competitors that if they want your business they have to be willing to match "best practice" 2) If you have already singed the contract and it wasn't explicictly mentioned that there would be an addition cost then don't pay it. Simple as that.
