So we have FINALLY decided to start work on our outdoor area

But before we do anything there is one issue I would like your input on.
Our water tank is located on the Alfresco side (it could not be located to the dead side due to limited space) and we are considering relocating it to the back of the house. If we move it to the back then we will be building over the easement for which we will have to obtain council approval. The cost for this will be $144 ($69 for application and then $75 on approval). I have spoken to the council and have been told that as water tanks are considered minor structures, approval should'nt be a problem.
The cost for moving the tank (including concrete slab & power point) would be around $1350, so in total we are looking at $1500 approx.
I was hoping to get your views on whether you think it would be worth spending the $1500 and freeing up that space (around 1.5m x 1.6m). Or should be just build a timber screen around it and leave it there. The cost for a screen would be around $500 (from an old quote I have).
What do you think we should do?
