is anyone familiar with the idea of a 'dry well' ?
i was flipping through a home repair book and came across this idea of a dry well.
basically, rain water from gutters flows down your piping into the ground, and it goes to a large drum (books says 55gal)
the drum is buried 18 inches below grade. the drum is completely covered in drill holes for water to seep out, and filled with stones. the lid is a pressure treated lumber or concrete.
the idea is that rain water flows into the drum and is then seeped out through the holes into the garden.
now, i have a couple of sheds in my back yard that currently aren't connected to my sewerage system (either being too far or not angled properly) and its causing me abit of greif with winter coming.
is this a viable solution?
p.s i'll try to include a scan of the actual article and picture later
