Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 27, 2010 9:30 pm Hello All. Does anyone know what the shelf-life is for Paint, both flat white and pre-mixed? I ask as I'm in the early stages of building a home but have the chance of acquiring the paint which will be used for painting all the interiors of the home now at a good discount. Given the fairly large quantities involved (130 litres for Ceilings & Walls), I'm keen to save any money I can. However, as the home won't be ready for painting for around 9-10months (I haven't started building yet!!) will it still be ok to use, or should I leave it til closer the date and just pay the normal cost? Any help appreciated, Chorlton TIMING OF BUILD 25Feb - Site Start 25Mar - Base Stage Complete 31Mar - Frame Completed 11Apr - Roof Tiles 20Apr - Brickwork Started Re: Shelf-Life of Paint 2Apr 29, 2010 1:23 am Ok so I'm not a painter but I have used paint that is a couple of years old with no problems. As long as you store it correctly and give it a real good stir. It sounds like this paint won't have been opened. You may want a second opinion though! You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 18582 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7171 Thank you. That is really helpful. Once we get the place done and passed for OC we can upgrade in the future once we get back on our feet and not paying mortgage and rent. 4 5745 |
