Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 25, 2010 9:01 pm Hi We have unusual weatherboards, which we know we can get matched however we are considering using some other kind of cladding (something like one of these products) for the extension. It will be very visible as we are adding to the side of the house and will come further forward than the existing house. Has anyone done this? I am having a hard time visualising what it will look like. If anyone has done it and has pictures that would be great! Thanks in advance Donna Re: Has anyone combined weatherboards with a different cladd 2Apr 25, 2010 9:51 pm You can always use rendered Blue Board. We have a lot of house around us that have used a mix of different claddings so it can work. Cheers Lou http://take2-customdesigndownslope.blogspot.com 07-10-09 omg they have cut the block 14-05-10 we finally have the keys Re: Has anyone combined weatherboards with a different cladd 3Apr 28, 2010 1:04 pm I have recently used colourbond on an extension and if joined correctly with say a 50 x 35 timber it really looks great. The only reason I had to use coulourbond is to keep up with the fire saftery regs as the coulorbond is close to the fenceline Re: Has anyone combined weatherboards with a different cladd 4Apr 28, 2010 8:32 pm Thanks for that! It is so frustrating not being able to see pics of weatherboard houses renovated with combined cladding..... Am constantly looking at weatherboard houses whilst driving around but everyone has used weatherboard. Re: Has anyone combined weatherboards with a different cladd 5Apr 28, 2010 8:52 pm Hi there, we're in Brisbane and planning a renovation on our weatherboard home. We're going to use Weatherboards but I've been keeping an eye on a renovation up the road thats just finished and they used rendered board for the extension on their weatherboard house. I could be cheeky and take some pics or something ? LOL. It looks OK, but I still prefer weatherboards... not sure if they did it for cost. The most definitive answer to your question James is this taken from the James Hardie Axon Cladding Installation Guide - i just happen to have it… 5 3658 yep you need a joint, foam is easiest, will look fine once rendered with a joint. 2 5233 Hi, have purchased a house with 2 single garage doors. The Centre pillar one side sits proud to the other. Can I change 2 doors into one. Please see picture. 0 6336 |
