I'm currently in the process of arguing with our local council re: submitting plans to build a garage and carport. After many months and many building permit applications, we are down to only three points we need to address. The major one being providing an Estimation for the costs of building this temple of ours. I've given them a list for each of the contractors, eg carpenter, electrician etc but only included building materials. (Being of Italian background all my mates and relatives will provide labour for free).
Does anyone know of a website that will provide this??[/b]

Simple formula is just double the material cost for the labour. Not perfect but will be close enough. Even if you vary each trade by between 40% to 60% labour you will be fine.
The joys of owner building!
