Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our builder cringed when he saw this and I have seen enough storm damaged roofs with the SES to think some backup lining is a good idea and cheap insurance. IS this just a cost saving thing ? Is there some other protective liner put up later ? I have just never seen a bare tile roof like this in a modern home ! Roof Sarking is about $3k extra for a normal house I believe. Sarking was not standard with our builder and the option wasn't even raised with us until we specifically asked for it. The upgrade cost was something like $3.5k.
