Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 16, 2006 2:16 pm Hey there I'm brand new to this build your own home business and was wanting some opinions on the options available to me.
It seems as though you have estates that either have covenants "restrictions orthey have none at all, which have you chosen and why? Have you regretted that decision? Has your neighbour put up a mother ugly house in an urestricted estate??? On average what is my saving if bring in my own builder and have him build my home to lockup stage and I do or organise the rest? What kind of percentage figure have you saved by doing it this way with your homes? In your case would you recommend it? What is generally included in lockup stage? Slab, frame, plumbling, plaster, electricity, gas, windows and doors? Thank you in advance. Milt, Re: Too many choices and questions 2Jan 16, 2006 3:34 pm Milt,
Lockup is normally slab, frame, windows, doors and either brick or weatherboard finish. The electrical, plumbing etc is connected to the house, but not internally completed. I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 108249 They already have two well known ones (HIA & MBA) that many new home buyers mistakenly think are regulatory bodies that Joe Public can complain to. 6 18177 Thanks for that!
