We have just bought a 1960s brick veneer house in Bayside Malebourne and are planning on doing a fairly large reno. Re: First time renovator desperate for advice and ideas 5Apr 14, 2010 6:50 pm We are also half way through renovating our house. Getting rid of walls can make such a huge difference. All i can say is that it will take you about 3 times as long as you think. We polished the floors ourselves as well and that was really hard work and never again. I would just pay someone. They did come up really well though. Good luck.
