Hi all,
hubby and I signed up a contract with a building company here in Perth. We signed the initial prelim contract where we confirmed the plan we liked and made structural changes(not many at all). The builder then sent the plan to the surveyor and it has been sitting there for the past 15 days with no progress!
Now they have released a new plan that is just a bigger version of the plan we selected for an extra $3K! It fits on our block and everything just works out perfectly! The builder has said if we pay the extra $3K then we can make this change. But the issue is the builder is saying that he now has to cancel our initial order with the survey company and start the whole process again which means we will be delayed further. The builder also insists that they cant just call the surveying company and ask them to review the new plan instead of the old one. But i dont understand this because the surveyor hasnt even looked at our plan yet.
Hope the above makes sense!
How long does it usually take to get surveys done? Also how long does it generally take to produce the fixed price building contract?
We LOVE this new plan but dont know if we can afford the delay in time as the seller is quite strict about the initial 30 calendar days he gave us for finance approval...
your comments/thoughts highly appreciated!
