Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 07, 2010 10:30 pm Hi Guys, I'm quite new to this forum and just wanted to know a few things. So first off, Hello Everybody! I have just turned 20 and bought an investment IP in VIC. The house is on 590sqm and i have just about completed my renovations before i get it tennanted. Now first off, the house is on an angle - meaning that when you look at it (front on) from the street, you are looking at the corner of it, if you know what i mean. Its one of those old style (1950's) weatherboard homes etc.. Now, i was wondering how much it would cost just to move the property (and straighten it up) to the rear of the block as it sits on the front half of the block..... if i built the subfloor, eg: bearers/joists stumps etc at the rear I know it would require i crane (i assume) would anyone have any clue :S ? Re: MOVING A HOUSE 2Apr 07, 2010 10:31 pm the reason i ask is just because in the future i would love to put a new double story townhouse at the front (as it would have beach views) and straightening the house up would free up heaps of room at the front. Re: MOVING A HOUSE 3Apr 08, 2010 2:33 am Ive seen houses jacked up for a lower storey and Ive seen large houses moved to another location on TV, which still involves jacking up and sliding a truck underneath. Moving it around on the block might be more difficult, depending on how much open space there is, but it would be interesting to get in the experts for a quote. Just make sure you are sitting down when they give it to you. Arfur Hello everyone, I have a question regarding moving a chandelier after it has been mounted.
