You've done a wonderful job. You should be really, really proud.
I'm sure there are professionals around that couldn't come close to what you've achieved.

Re: Mis Vintage - Before and After 22Apr 06, 2010 7:41 pm Miss Vintage, your house looks absolutely gorgeous Can you tell me what colours you used in the laundry? Re: Mis Vintage - Before and After 23Apr 06, 2010 7:43 pm Miss Vintage Stunning. Absolutely beautiful What a great transformation. I bet you will be sad to leave this place behind after all your hard work Re: Mis Vintage - Before and After 24Apr 06, 2010 7:43 pm eeek scrap that question, other people asked while I was slowly replying Re: Mis Vintage - Before and After 25Apr 06, 2010 7:47 pm kek  And I thought the ensuite reno was pretty good. That is one serious reno - none of your "coat of paint and new carpet" jobs. I love all your timber and rattan furniture, and it looked so sad crammed into the former ugliness, but now..... Amazing job, absolutely stunning! You must be exhausted... and I hope you make some serious profit on the sale. I bet Michelle's just shorted out her computer through drooling into the keyboard. Thankyou Kek - it was a seriously exhausting because we did everything ourselves.... ok we didnt put the pool in and I drew the line at paving but all the tiling etc we did, plus we have a seriously amazing cabinet maker who deals with my neurotic crap quite well..... yes Peta... I understand the bench has to be 600 deep not 570. Yes Peta, the tops will all be rolled as discussed and yes Peta, you will be able to fit 5 spray and wipe bottles deep in the laundry cabinets! Also, I did feel really sorry for my furniture, I am hoping whoever buys the house will want to buy it so it doesnt have to endure storage for the next 2 years.... he he he and I can buy all new stuff for the next house. We defiantely want to make a good profit and it looks "ok" at the moment, not half as good as before the major price drops but not as bad as we originally thought, its just how do you justify all the hard work you have done in monetary terms.... the next couple of weeks should be very very interesting. All I can say is this, you are wasting a wonderful talent on the eye you have for decoration! I’ve only said this to one other person on the forum Riksters wife; you need to get into decorating. I’m serious here, you have an eye, one that should be put to good use, your clients will LOVE you! Do yourself a favour and find a school for decorating and enrol now, get your diploma, you will not be sorry! I’m more than impressed with your style, work and talent…..and I don’t say that to a lot of people, in fact hardly any! Go for it, a job well done on your renos, of which I have only seen once before here, Riksters home. Thankyou to everyone, I am sitting here with my glass of wine (Having troubly drinking it, my arms are so sore from painting, sanding, mulching and grouting) glowing with everyones lovely compliments. I love my house and am so glad not only that the photo's have come out beautifully but that everyones else loves it as much as me. I swear, when I was planning my wedding, I wanted to become a wedding planner, when I was renovating, I wanted to flip houses, what next..... build houses??? I will look into doing a decorating course, I did a small one at tafe but found it a bit stiffling, it was really just listening to a person talk and one of the first things they told me was never to paint walls any shade of green.... oh dear, my main loungroom is mint.... Maybe I will move into it when I am more confident but at the moment I am too nervous trying to decide how to plan my next house, do I go for dark wood cabinets with dark wood floors. ... lots of hours on the net I am thinking and I am sure your advice will be invaluable. Thankyou again, its lovely to be recognised. I am seriously blushing! Thanks for sharing the before and after photos, I loved looking at those Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: Mis Vintage - Before and After 36Apr 06, 2010 11:02 pm mishb I think you've done a beautiful job, the house looks fantastic. I do have one question though - did you consider changing or even just painting the kitchen cabinet doors? Hey MishB - yes, personally I hated the kitchen cabinets and brought my cabinet maker in with the intention of ripping the whole lot out and starting again.... BUT I found out they are American White Oak, solid wood cabinets, very well made. It would have been terrible to remove them and I couldnt afford to replace them with the same quality so they had to stay. Now I defiantely dont mind them, I wouldnt pick them in my next house but I am glad because these really do have a lovely warm feel to them. Each photo took my breath away and I thought no doubt a very experienced interior decorator and landscaper had done all this work. If you don't do a course or get qualified I am sure via word of mouth people will approach you asking for your service. Spectacular work and I absolutely love your master bedroom!
