Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 10, 2007 12:26 pm I feel a bit ticked off at my new neighbour today. we share approx 1 metre of fence.
I was outside yesterday when she called me over and said she was getting the fence done on Friday and did I want to pay half. I was shocked and said I guess so. I know it's only $150 dollars (my half) but there allready is a (farm) fence there so I don't legally have to. And I'm annoyed that she should ask really when she allready has it planned. What to do........ Re: FENCE 2Sep 10, 2007 12:51 pm 1 metre of fence for $300???? She's robbing you blind or I'm in the wrong business.
Just avoid her from now on and don't pay the money. At least see the per metre price on paper, it should be around $50 per metre give or take. Re: FENCE 3Sep 10, 2007 7:04 pm That fence must be made in glass/full steel if it's that expensive! Let her show you the invoice first... It cost less than $100 here in Sydney! She might get it done in less than $150 for the lot, and get you to pay in full....
Problem is, if you let her get you so easily like that, what about the other neighbours? What if she tells everyone how nice you are, and everyone start replacing their part of the fence assuming you will be sharing the cost without even need to get your permission??? Re: FENCE 4Sep 10, 2007 7:22 pm Tell them to go and jump, or give me the address and I will come and do it for that price, and recommend that they need their whole lot replaced.
If they cannot have the decency to give you notice before hand then they can pay for the lot. Its simple courtesy. Adrian B Re: FENCE 5Sep 10, 2007 7:31 pm (((At least see the per metre price on paper, it should be around $50 per metre give or take.)))
I agree, I would want to see the invoice of her purchase! Ha, neighbours, who needs them. She has done the wrong thing to start with; she should have asked you up front. 1mt…..where’s hers head? We forked out $700 for our whole boundary line, including down to the front boundary. I actually think I got ripped off as well, but hey….they did all the work, while we watched, so suits me!! ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: FENCE 7Sep 11, 2007 10:59 am ![]() Thanks guys....I will ask for a copy of the invoice. And I think I will be glad of the fence, now I don't have to see them at all. Change it to 2M ones to block all the views!! I would say 2 would be sufficient, unless you are in a windy area Have you seen GlassMate for installing glass pool fencing? 0 1182 The glass/spigot manufacturer will have an installation guide that sets out all those requirements.
