Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 01, 2010 10:05 am I am updating and have timber 4 panel doors that I want to keep 'timber'....but want to paint the dated skirtings white. Painting the timber doors is not an option as the kitchen / pantry etc is the same colour and I like it. It's a Victorian reproduction style house so the look is appropriate. Can I do that? ( paint the skirtings white)...or will it look strange? I am painting all of the skirtings AND doors hallway, bedrooms bathroom etc beyond the hall door white...but don't want to in the living areas. There is plenty of white doors / timber skirting examples to be seen...but I can't recall seeing it this way round. Also...if doing so, would it be better to paint just the skirtings and not the door frame..or the door frame as well? This is what they look like now - Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Any help or pics from others who have done so would be helpful. You have made my mind up...I'm doing it hahaha Another question now though...we also have timber window frames.....I guess the same applies?...ie I can paint them ALL white too..not just those the 'beyond the hallway' ones. I see your door FRAMES are also timber...but you have painted them in the bedrooms?...they look great! Love your home...our next build ( after this extention and reno) will again be period too... Love your column tops...we have some corbles in white plaster...I love plasterwork. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I already have the doors and architraves installed as pictured.
