Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 31, 2010 5:44 pm Looking to get the following jobs done but wondering in what order? Remove plaster throughout house. Remove roofing iron. Completely remove open fire/chimneys. Install ducting heating/cooling. Install new roofing iron. Install new gyprock throughout the house. Paint House. Rip up carpet and polish floor boards. Im not sure how i will go fitting tradies to come and complete jobs while the roof is off, if i am forced to wait to long rain may beat them. Im guessign this major renovation is going to cost me close to $50k so i want to get it done right! Any thoughts or suggestions? Re: Order of renovation? 2Mar 31, 2010 9:16 pm I would have thought generally start from top to bottom. Remove fire/chimneys Remove Roof Install new roof - new roof will protect all underneath from the elements Remove plaster install ducting new gyprock Paint interior (except skirting boards) Rip up carpet - left to this stage, it will protect the floors from all the other work above Sand and polish floors Paint skirting boards Enjoy!
