We ended up buying our carpet with a show special and saved more than $500! We also bought a new 8 seater dining table and chairs on special! So, thanks very much for the tickets. Much appreciated. Re: HIA Home Ideas Show 2010 - Free Double Passes (Melbourne 93Apr 12, 2010 3:03 pm To be honest, I wasn't that impressed with the HIA show this year. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but wasn't that. A stand making pretzels is not Home Ideas nor Building and Renovation focused. I think I recall only one set up bathroom (Camberwell Electronics I think) and perhaps 2 kitchens (one was Freedom Kitchens). The rest was just products. I got no idea about how good kitchens work together from any 'renovation' companies; nor did I get many useful ideas about how to build a ensuite in a small area but still desirable and functional. There was a big screen and surround sound system somewhere in the middle, but that was as dark as a commercial cinema - not all that realistic at my home. Perhaps next year it should be called "Home and Product Ideas Show". Lots of products, some ideas, not much conjunction. Best product stand that actually took time to explain to me their product benefits and why i'd use them (and what to look out for) - St George for range hoods, ovens and cook tops. Spent a good 30 minutes there alone. Got about 50 or 60 product glossies to sift through; and bought 3 home renovation magazines which are like 200 pages each for $10 (kitchens, bathrooms and outdoors). I'd go again if it was free; but paying $18 for that? Nup! Re: HIA Home Ideas Show 2010 - Free Double Passes (Melbourne 94Apr 12, 2010 3:25 pm I've never been before, but enjoyed it. I think seeing a stand for the Thin Lizzy Make up took the cake though Tart yourself up while your renovating Dear J.K. Rowling, Your books are entirely unrealistic.
