Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 25, 2010 1:55 pm Hi, would love to hear any feedback on a blackboard wall using blackboard paint. I am thinking of doing this as a feature wall in two of my kids bedrooms. I have seen the product Liquid Chalk and thought they would be great for the kids. One child wants a skull theme, black, white and grey ... so a black wall will tie in nicely. My other child is a teenage girl going for the black/white flock type look, so again a black feature wall will work here too. Does anyone have any pics of walls done like this, and any feedback on the practicalities of them. Thanking you. It's great, everyone says how great it looks. I also painted one wall in my butlers pantry to keep shopping lists etc on, and that has worked out fab too. when we sell, I'll paint over wall colour again, but for now, they are great. Very easy to paint on (two coats best) and easy to keep clean, no dust etc... go for it, kids love it too! A thankful person is a happy person. I want to do this in the pool table / bar area. Reckon it will be a bit of fun to see what our crazy friends write on there - especially after a few liquid refreshments Cheers Kim Re: Has anyone done a blackboard paint wall for kids bedroom 7Mar 26, 2010 11:35 am EKT What is liquid chalk? +1 .... I think I want some Re: Has anyone done a blackboard paint wall for kids bedroom 8Mar 26, 2010 12:08 pm I have pasted a link with some more info for you http://www.picmerch.com.au/index.html If you look on ebay you can buy them from there too. Definateley no chalk dust and you can write with them on white boards, glass etc .... basically any non-porous products .... Re: Has anyone done a blackboard paint wall for kids bedroom 9Mar 26, 2010 2:27 pm liquid chalk is blackboard paint. You simply paint it on, and when it dries, it is a chalboard. I think it comes in a variety of colours, def black. very easy to work with. you buy it at Bunnings A thankful person is a happy person. They are "chalks" or liquid type pens that you can use on a blackboard or chalkboard. They don't leave any chalky residue and are often used for menu board writing. On a side note, I have looked at your thread and blog, your home is gorgeous and I love your decorating ideas, in particular you little girls room. Works really well, but you need at least 2 coats. Haymes sells larger tins of it than some of the other brands. It comes in green or black. Keeps kids busy for hours, they can do murals. Some of the chalks now available don't drop too much dust at all, and waht there is just drops on the skirting board - easily dusted off. I love this stuff... this is the whole reason I changed the flooring in our rumpus from carpet to laminate timbers... just so I can paint a wall in the chalkboard paint and not worry about chalk dust on carpet (mind you I don't have kids yet so maybe I'm doing it for myself???!!! ) Sleven Moved into our Atlantique MkII 36 by Carlisle Homes I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 9655 Bathroom renovation will likely include a back-to-corner bath and we’re considering a freestanding tap with hand-held shower such as the picture included.
