Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Skirting - MDF or pine ?? 41Jun 22, 2011 4:08 pm Just found this thread. We are about to put in about 230 metres of skirting in our new home and I was going to put in mdf as we will be painting them white. My parents have pine and it seems the same. No need for hardwood as we are painting them. Our timber flooring is costing 50k and our home is not cheap. But, I was going to go mdf because we are painting them anyway. If we get flooding then our entire 50k floor will be screwed along with the mdf skirting. You'd have to be unlucky for that to happen.... I currently have jarrah skirting and cannot wait for white! Probably a not bad thing to mention particle board should in case anyone else reading this got the two confused. 6 4879 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Are you going to have the frame exposed or are you cladding it with something.
