I needed to remove two UPVC cemented pipes from a $1.5k sand filter ready for a rebuild (the multiport valve was being replaced with an electronic one). I was told it couldnt be done (well, pretty much no endorsement from everywhere I could seek info). Some said to pour glue into it and light it up and let it burn for a while, then see if you can pull it out. Well, as it turns out, the trick is to use an electronics heat gun, slice the pipe insert and heat.
