Hi,
We have an internal feature brick wall in our kitchen, which is load bearing. It's about 5.5 metres long, and has enclosures for the fridge, pantry, oven and some cooking space. It goes all the way to the roof and is about 60-70cm from the outside wall (ie 70cm wide). We have received a quote of $4500 to remove the wall, add props to support the strut in the ceiling which is resting on it, ceiling repair work/fill work, adding cornices and for waste removal, with the bin etc
On this limited information could someone comment on the expected cost and whether it may be reasonable or not?
Note the outside wall which will be exposed after the internal one is removed will not be plastered or anything like that. only the ceiling and cornices will be repositioned from where the internal one joint.
For visual reference it's similar to these one, in how it has enclosures and goes from ceiling to the floor. And has a width. it's load bearing and is longer as well.
