This is what we did. We found a house we liked and then looked around for land. We wanted to move to a built up area in Eastern Melbourne so we had to demolish too. It ended up taking a year to find the land to fit the house. We did get what we wanted in the end, but if you don't have patience (which I think I have now used all of mine) you may get frustrated. If the house you like is narrow and doesn't take up too much land it will be easier to find land.
