Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 17, 2010 9:45 pm I have I popped by Keysborough today to check out a couple of PD & M8tricon's displays, and the first two double=story Met's def got a WOW out of me (lindrum 58 and promenade 40). I'm not normally a big fan of very modern homes, but I seriously loved every detail, the kitchens in particular were amazing - truly amazing. Their websites are just not doing these homes justice! mind you the outdoor cabanas in the PD homes were "to die for"! Have you seen a great display lately that others should know about to see new ideas/styles? A thankful person is a happy person. I cant say I have been to any recently, but I remember a M$tricon home at Point Cook about 3 years ago that literally took my breath away. I cant remember the name but it had a massive wall of white stack stone and a void over the family area. All I remember was the sense of space and light. It was this house we were going to build on our block of land but I soon realised it wouldnt suit the block. I use to travel for 30mins once a week just to look at it On a side note...M$etricon homes always seem to be my favourite. Must be something in the design I like. Mrs B Re: have you been "wow"d by a display home lately? 3Mar 17, 2010 10:07 pm I've tried to post to this thread so I hope this doesn't end up being a duplicate. Dechellis Homes in Adelaide to the most amazing display homes. The specs are amazing and the put everything in. The problem is, if you only want to build the basic one it's hard to imagine what it would look like. I wish I was rich It would make my build much easier. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: have you been "wow"d by a display home lately? 4Mar 17, 2010 10:19 pm g'day mrs b! yeah I reckon it's those glossy white tiled floors, they just get me every time I walk into a home with them! but yeah, overall, just so contemporary, yet comfortable, hard to describe isn't it! Pd Lisbon 22 at Williams Landing.. I saw it on the website when I was researching builders and I kept thinking of it.. I went to see it and I felt like I was home I have now paid the deposit and building later this year I LOVE the Kitchen and pantry! I always went into display homes looking at how good the kitchens were and this beats them all. Absolutely gorgeous!! I'm so excited to call it home soon! Re: have you been "WOW"d by a display home lately? 7Mar 18, 2010 2:41 pm Only real displays i recall from our many weekends of searching prior to settling on our Places fairhaven, were really a mix of carlisle and PD displays. Several had 'features' with a wow factor, eg huge open plan living areas, private external shower and spa accessible from the ensuite, impressive butlers pantries, balconies and floor to ceiling windows in master bedrooms etc. I don't know it could just be me but just because a house is large, doesn't automatically give it wow factor. TBH, i think we probably had more "OMG what were they thinking" moments of late when looking through displays. One particular recently had a Teal, Black and White theme which was continued in every room of the house. I'm all for feature walls but do you really need to have the same colors in EVERY room of the house? Another one in particular that comes to mind was a large double storey with a cabana seperated in the backyard by what can only be described as a moat, with a tile bridge to cross over and then stairs leading up into the cabana. Yes there was a wow moment, but considering how completely impractical it was. Not wide enough or long enough to use as a lap pool, not deep enough to use as a relaxation pool/spa, not to mention the slipping/tripping hazard that wet tile bridge + stairs presented. So to succinctly answer the OP question, no not really. Features yes but not whole homes. There are three display homes and it's the middle one decorated in an asian theme. I just love the deep purple carpet mixed with the caramel coloured tiles and the accent of red throughout the house. Oh, and the wall paper in the entrance and the heavy red curtains in the main bedroom. Plus, all the asian furniture and nick naks. I bribed DP one day to have a look through and even he was impressed. Re: have you been "WOW"d by a display home lately? 10Mar 19, 2010 9:47 pm We have a couple of display homes in our estate that are one off designs, this one I was WOW by it was the smallest home in the display village but the design was really clever. Yeah Places is another PD chain (owned by the same overall corporation), to the best of my knowledge all their interior design is done by "hopetoun interiors" which is strangely enough operated under PD. Whose other purpose is doing color selections for Places/PD clients.
