Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 15, 2010 2:03 pm We had our vanities installed on friday and I noticed that the sink was put in the spot next to the wall (less than 10cm away making it useless for toothbrushes and hairdryers) apparently the cabinet makers didnt have the electrical plan and vice versa and I thought the drawers were going on the other side like the display home (and thats what I asked for) but missed it on the plan when I checked it. are there any regulations about how close a pp can be to a sink? i really want it changed and am trying to work out if we should be the ones to pay for it or the caninet makers? From memory I think that a pp or light switch cannot be less than 15cm from water outlet. Better check that fugure though. You may have problems getting certification for this one. progress viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20401 sculptures viewtopic.php?f=36&t=26607 pole trouble viewtopic.php?f=3&t=25988 Re: Powerpoint directly next to the sink? ok or not? 3Mar 15, 2010 6:47 pm I don't know how accurate this is (found it on a renovation reference site), but it sounds about right from memory: Quote: Where sinks have a capacity of less than 20 litres, the area within which a power point or switch cannot be located is 40mm in height and 150mm either side of the sink basin edge.
