But he must have seen the UGLY HDMI cable and thought I'm not stealing a cable that is that UGLY!! and so he stole all the cheap cables and left the most expensive one there... Re: Selby Acoustics - HDMI - New products with a *free givea 3Mar 12, 2010 1:07 pm The best things with HDMI cables are 1. Sharp picture 2. One cable for everything makes room even tidier My story: Rip out my pocket. Doesn't eat properly (Cheap food such as Safeway brand) to get this cable.... kekekekekekekeke It's a worth cable for everyone who has LCD or Plasma TV. Even though your LCD or Plasma only support 720P, You will see the big difference Re: Selby Acoustics - HDMI - New products with a *free givea 4Mar 12, 2010 1:16 pm I love HDMI, I really get annoyed when I have requested the builder to place the power point and TV point at 16c level in my Home Theatre and bedroom not at 3c level. I reminded my CLO before the float that this was installed incorrectly, the float is now on. My pure viewing pleasure and future HDMI dreams are dashed!! Re: Selby Acoustics - HDMI - New products with a *free givea 5Mar 12, 2010 2:04 pm One cable to rule them all, One place to find them, Audio and Video, bring them all and in insulation bind them In the Land of theaters where the cables lie. Sorry about that! Re: Selby Acoustics - HDMI - New products with a *free givea 7Mar 13, 2010 2:18 pm Ok, to be honest I didnt even know what a HDMI cable was used for but now after googling it, i know that i NEED ONE and this little comp was just perfect timing. Hubby and i are severly behind the times. We are currently still watching one of those big box type TV's. The TV is so old, the colour is fading and now we cant change the volume via remote control so we decided its time to upgrade. I hate having to get up off the lounge as the volume needs adjusting from channel to channel. After a bit of research, we have decided to get an 40 inch LED LCD flat screen, just got to shop around now. (still small compared to some but for us its a big TV) I cant wait to be wowed with the new digital clarity so Mr Walker, we would love to win one of your cables to enhance our long awaited arrival into the modern age and to start building our own home theater. Re: Selby Acoustics - HDMI - New products with a *free givea 8Mar 13, 2010 6:46 pm Personally I absolutely detest HDMI. Why? Well I'll tell you why! When I started out looking for my first wide screen TV, some 6yrs ago I think, the salesman at the time said, "What are you looking sir?" Easy Q is said, one big TV. Well sir he replied, are you looking for something big just to watch now or something for the future? Now being the savy techno person I thought I was said "Well of course the future" "Oh okay then you'd be wanting one of these, a 42" Hitachi Plasma with not 1 but '2', yes that's right '2' HDMI inputs." What in the hell is High DiMi I thought? Now not wanting to sound ignorant being male, I thought High DiMi must be some sort of Digital updated version of HiFi audio now being incorporated into Plasma TV's. I puffed out my chest and boldly told the young fella, 'No thanks my HiFi system is pretty powerful, so it's probably something I'll never use." It was then the salesman explained to me what HDMI really was and how all the other units only had one input where the Hitachi had 2 inputs, along with one of the highest pixels on the market. So having sheepishly pulled in my ego I agreed to pay $5,870 (on sale mind you) and then $180 for a HDMI cable (conned) and $600 for a DVD player with HDMI output. I think he really saw me coming To his credit, the picture was everything he said it would be and more. I was hooked! From that point onwards I've become obsessed with trying to find the perfect cable to go with the perfect screen. It's been driving me nuts reading this report, that report, buying selling blah blah blah blah blah until I read and bought my first Selby HDMI cable. It was only for my daughters player to her LCD in her room so quality wasn't an issue. It was cheap and the write-up said it was guarenteed to perform as good as the best. Okay I thought, its only for my daughter and if it doesn't work I haven't paid a fortune. Bugger me when it turned up and did what it was claimed. Not only did I off load one of my better, no more expensive cables, I've been cursing myself for paying out $$$$$$$$$$ for years. Personally I'm quietly hoping these cables fail the test, but I think I already know the answer....... I am a working wife and mother of two daughters who is about to start building a house, so here is what I am hoping HDMI cable will do for me: 1) If I plug it into my husband will it Help Domesticate the Male who ****** Idly on the couch? 2) If I plug it into my kids will it Halve the time my Daughters spend Mindlessly watching the Idiot-box? 3) If I plug it into my house will it Hide the Damn Mess Inside? 4) If I plug it into my builder will it Halve the price of my Dwelling that I am paying a Mint for and reslove all Issues? 4) If I plug it into myself will it make this Harrangued Domestic Manager slightly less Irrational? If this fancy HDMI cable cannot do all of these things, then pfft, it is of no use to me Building the Grandview 36 with M$tric0n Plans approved 15/4/2010 Site start date 21/5/2010 Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32825&p=461266#p461266 Re: Selby Acoustics - HDMI - New products with a *free givea 10Mar 14, 2010 3:55 pm The best thing about HDMI cables is when they work, which is sadly more than I can say for my current non-Selby HDMI cable that connects my PS3 to my TV. The flickering and drop outs of both audio and video are particularly annoying as when it all works it's gloriously clear and sounds great. Re: Selby Acoustics - HDMI - New products with a *free givea 11Mar 14, 2010 6:31 pm No more "blue cord goes here, green cord goes here" type conversation with my in-laws. They're not the most technologically inclined people, so when explained to them they only require one cable rather than the original rats nest they had, it was a godsend. It stopped the nightly phone calls asking "why isn't the sound working anymore"? Then again, they still don't know what the "pause button" looks like...
