We rang our insurance company on Sunday morning after storm damage to our house and they won't send an assessor to the house until NEXT week or the week after. We were told to organise our own quotes in the meantime!!! Which company are you with? Re: Hail damage ....GRRRRRRRRR 29Mar 11, 2010 4:03 pm AAMI for 2 cars RACV for 1 car AMP for home and contents... Re: Hail damage ....GRRRRRRRRR 30Mar 11, 2010 4:40 pm Thanks Matt. Our house is with AAMI too. They STILL wont give us a date for an assessor. We have a claim number, and the SES has secured the roof for now. We've been given the runaround on the phone, the first two people said an assessor would be coming Tues/Wed, (no show) then the last person we spoke to said "no assessor has been booked - if you wan't one you have to ask for one", despite being told by the previous call operators that we were in the "diary''. When I questioned why we suddenly had no assessor, he wasn't interested and gave a lot of attitude, which we didn't need on top of everything else. He also told us to organize our own quotes for repairs - we don't know where to start. And if we do as they say, the repairs we orgainse are not covered by their lifetime warranty. So now we're told (again) an assessor will get there "sometime next week or the week after". We just want them to send someone to look at the place and tell us what needs to be done. I know they must be very busy, but its just not good enough. Who knows what the damage will look like in 1 or two weeks? Even more frustrating are the ads they put in yesterdays paper saying they have more assessors on the ground and are ready to process claims. Its a 2 to 3 hour wait on the phone before you get through, and its a different person everytime. What do we do?
