Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Cost of concrete for driveway 2Aug 23, 2007 11:06 pm Hi mek
I just had our drive laid yesterday in coloured concrete. The colour we went for was Bluestone and cost $48 per sqm. I think it would be the same for charcoal. If you wanted a stencilled finish, then this adds to the price. Cheers Re: Cost of concrete for driveway 4Aug 25, 2007 6:03 pm Hi Mek
That price was all inclusive, site clear, removal of dirt, formwork, reo mesh, concrete poor and sealing. Hope that all makes sense? I will have some photo's on my blog by the end of this weekend if interested. http://www.francis26tarneit.blogspot.com/ Cheers Re: Cost of concrete for driveway 5Aug 25, 2007 6:45 pm Thanks again uncle. The concrete was laid after the building was finished, is that right? So totally separate charge?
Had a look at your blog, hope all is well, know how you feel, my son had the same done (as a baby). Good luck. Re: Cost of concrete for driveway 6Aug 25, 2007 8:18 pm Hi Mek
Thanks for the well wishes. The driveway is totally separate to the work done by the builders, so I arranged quotes and selected the concreting company I liked best. Next week am having the cross over changed, but the drive itself is finished. Have a look at the blog say on Sunday night and it should be updated by then with some photo's. Tony Re: Cost of concrete for driveway 7Aug 27, 2007 10:46 am Hi uncle Ant,
Just visited your Blog. I hope your health is getting better. We have an identical driveway issue.. needing to swap the existing crossover to LHS and council has sent us all the specifications. we will also have to do the driveway (7.6 m deep and width of approx 2 car spaces ) I like the looks of coloured textured concrete. I feel the stamped/stencilled is too common and loses its lustre too soon.. I may be wrong What quotes have u reveived for the swapping of the crossover?is it done by the same concreter or they are a different trade? looking forward to your feedback cheers viv Re: Cost of concrete for driveway 8Aug 27, 2007 12:13 pm vpande Hi uncle Ant, Just visited your Blog. The concreter is doing both jobs for us, but quoted the drive and cross over work individually. The concreter is taking care of the council and permits all inclusive in the price. For our job, we need to have an extra panel put in to widen the cross over, which will fix the access angle to the driveway and garage. For our job it was going to vary between $1850 to $1500 depending on what the council actually wanted done. The council had to do a site visit with the concreter before they would approve. I think a completely new cross over may cost more? Not sure though so best to get some quotes. I spoke to some people on this forum a couple of months ago and the advice I got was to find a concreter who does driveways as their main business. They will be experienced in dealing with council and can take care of the lot for you. Changing cross overs is a lot more common that I personally would have thought. In the estate I am in there a few that have/are being changed. Good luck Tony To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9863 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10948 |
