Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Cost of concrete for driveway 8Aug 27, 2007 1:13 pm vpande Hi uncle Ant, Just visited your Blog. I hope your health is getting better. We have an identical driveway issue.. needing to swap the existing crossover to LHS and council has sent us all the specifications. we will also have to do the driveway (7.6 m deep and width of approx 2 car spaces ) I like the looks of coloured textured concrete. I feel the stamped/stencilled is too common and loses its lustre too soon.. I may be wrong What quotes have u reveived for the swapping of the crossover?is it done by the same concreter or they are a different trade? looking forward to your feedback cheers viv Hi Viv I am feeling a lot better thanks, but still off work. The concreter is doing both jobs for us, but quoted the drive and cross over work individually. The concreter is taking care of the council and permits all inclusive in the price. For our job, we need to have an extra panel put in to widen the cross over, which will fix the access angle to the driveway and garage. For our job it was going to vary between $1850 to $1500 depending on what the council actually wanted done. The council had to do a site visit with the concreter before they would approve. I think a completely new cross over may cost more? Not sure though so best to get some quotes. I spoke to some people on this forum a couple of months ago and the advice I got was to find a concreter who does driveways as their main business. They will be experienced in dealing with council and can take care of the lot for you. Changing cross overs is a lot more common that I personally would have thought. In the estate I am in there a few that have/are being changed. Good luck Tony To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 7425 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 9089 |
