Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 23, 2010 7:17 pm I've recently had a pool put in. The pool company arranged the building approval, and I was sent the approval letter from the private certifiers. What I missed though was the fact that I had to arrange the final inspection, and even though the approval was for 6 months, there is a clause that says if I haven't contacted them within 3 months to arrange an inspection, I will receive a reminder automatically and be billed $100 administration fee. Well, I received the reminder letter today. The pool company never pointed out to me that I needed to arrange the final inspection - I'd assumed they'd letter the certifier know when the pool was finished. Regardless, I think it's not really nice to send a reminder before the approval is expired, and secondly to charge $100 for something that must be printed out automatically (their words) by their computer. But I feel I have no choice but to pay it, as I need their final inspection done. What do other people think? Should I ring and complain or just pay it?
