Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 21, 2010 9:50 am Just went to our block and noticed that someone has been using water out of the tap on our block, we don’t start building until April and was wondering if I should put a pad lock on it so that it’s kept in the off position, that way no one can use it. Or should I just not bother? Is there a water meter to measure how much is being used? Is any neighbour likely to be using your water to flood their lawns? Or was it someone merely giving their thirsty dog a drink? Lock it off if you are genuinely worried. Arfur Re: Should I pad lock my tap? 3Feb 21, 2010 2:13 pm I know it’s a bit odd, the meter shows that some water has been used, not much, but the point is that it is being used. What I don’t understand is why, it wouldn’t be any of the builders around because all the blocks being built on have their own taps. It’s not the money, there isn’t enough being used to even worry about that, I guess I just find it strange that it is being used. I will keep an eye on it over the next few weeks. Re: Should I pad lock my tap? 6Feb 22, 2010 4:47 pm I would padlock it, but only because our dopey builder left the tap running one day and flooded the whole block it took months to dry out and held up our landscaping. So as they say, once bitten twice shy. Anyway, normally the owner pays for the water and services associated to it. Builder pays for electricity only, so do whatever you feel comfortable with. Re: Should I pad lock my tap? 7Feb 23, 2010 3:00 pm we have this problem still (our house is about 3 years old now) - tap out front is our billed water, tap out back is grey water. we reckon they've put in the wrong way - grey water should be out front the tap out the front gets used ALL THE TIME by council workers, they climb over our little fence and help themselves (to water the community gardens etc ) - and we pay for it! i'd padlock it if possible ♥ hoping to build in 2011! 1 4678 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7379 7 5137 |
