Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 20, 2010 8:41 am The Federal Govt has scrapped their energy efficient homes scheme leaving installers and producers with millions of dollars worth of insulation products and customers not getting insulated. I am in installer and I have been owed $60k from the govt. for 11 weeks. Out of the 600 homes i have insulated, they found fault with 11 of them, out of that 11, 3 were genuine faults due to admin errors. Is anyone out there an installer who has been affected this way or is affected by this sudden closure of the scheme. Re: Government Insulation Scheme Scrapped 2Feb 20, 2010 10:01 am the scheme wasn't really scrapped ..just put on hold till they have the safety aspects sorted.. then it will be up ina new form.... There are too many cowboys in the industry who are putting profits before safety. So many people have died unnecessarily because of not following procedure and taking short-cuts. Isn't it better to suspend the program than to have more people die or put people at risk of dying through house fires? I'm sorry for your personal situation. I would imagine that the government would still be paying for work completed. Why the hold up on payment to your business? That's slack. Re: Government Insulation Scheme Scrapped 4Feb 20, 2010 10:26 am Why the holdup... Govs are notorious for taking 60-90 days... From what I hear there are plenty of cowboys I would love to see an audit of insulation work done Another forum I know off is full of half baked jobs...and the others were not just baked they were burnt. I want the gov to get the money of the installers that did crook jobs. Where you are coming from is where you are going to...
