Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 16, 2010 11:27 am hi, Our 3 month maintenance passed a while ago and the To-do lists involving painters and electricians listed have been dealt gradually. That made me think of one question: What happen if tenants are living in this type of brand new, just finished building property? We saw plenty of To-lease ones in the new estates, some even have the ads. as early as plaster-stage! As owners, we honestly think it is a bit headache to move the furniture and stuff around in order to have painting touch up or what so ever, stay at home when the tradies/ supervisor come and point out the defects to be rectified. Just like a few days ago, I found some problems with the ranghood, call the manufactuer, someone came and told me to wait for another replacement, and call him to come again and change it. So at least 3 times of stay-at-home for that job. So I wander if it was a tenant, could they say " No" ? Then, how could the maintenance be done?? Re: What will the tenants do for the house's maintenance? 2Feb 16, 2010 11:36 am I'm actually a tenant in a brand new house (as is my neighbour!). And i don't have a problem with tradies coming to fix things. I can't imagine that someone, living in a brand new home, *wouldn't* want the things fixed!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: What will the tenants do for the house's maintenance? 3Feb 16, 2010 12:03 pm You might find that it's the Property Manager from the Real Estate that would actually be the ones dealing with it so they'll be there to open the house (assuming that the tenant has moved furniture around if necessary). Re: What will the tenants do for the house's maintenance? 4Feb 16, 2010 12:22 pm We're also tenants in a brand new home and we are currently dealing with the builder directly to fix things as the agent wasn't getting anywhere. Don't have a problem with getting things done by tradies, we want the house to be in proper order just as if it was our own. Building Stanton 34 with M3tric0n You’re on the right track, wire brush in a grinder then a zinc rich epoxy primer then a top coat of some sort, like a waterproofing membrane. Raising the concrete would… 1 7020 How good is Simeon?! Always taking time to help others out! Wish we were building in NSW and could work together. Thanks for all that you do! 7 6550 Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6882 |
