Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 14, 2010 7:31 pm Hi All I am not sure if this is correct (to post a new topic). This is my first message though I have been reading with great interest various topics/threads over the past few months. Basically, I have just selected a tile and now after reading some forums I am not sure if I have made the right choice (I can still change). My pick is a porcelain glazed tile 300 x 600 for bathroom, ensuite and laundry. I want to use the same tile on floor and walls as I like the simplicity. The tile is a natural look which really appeals to me. However, not sure if ok to use on the shower base and walls? Also, how difficult to tile? My husband (carpenter) is doing the tiling; he has tiled plenty of ceramics tiles but not porcelain. We know it is harder (diamond blades etc) and rectified edges means we need to have a level surface. I really love the tiles - bonus, only $35 sq mt, not sure if they are from Italy/Spain/China but I can check, thinking if they are from China (poorer quality apparently) should a give them the flick? Interested to hear anyone’s experiences. Oh, we are building a rear unit (3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 living room ... but compact) back of our Melbourne bayside house. Subdivision plans have just gone through after 18 months! Once finishted on rear unit we are doing an extensive reno on front, 1940 home and this is where we will end up living, hopefully in 2 years….. so we have a way to go! Thanks for your time ps I have enjoyed reading so many topics and helped me decide on many aspects to date, decisions made (unless I change my mind).
