Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 06, 2010 6:27 pm We currently live at one of my dads houses while we build so we can rent our other house out in the meantime. Its 10 unfenced acres and my poor siberian husky is on a wire run because she keeps going into neighbours yards etc Tried the invisible fence etc nothing contained her and she wont stay like my other little dogs because well.. its their nature to escape and run! I bought some 4ft wire fencing and star pickets and want to put it up but it needs to have two points where the fence conects with the house so the dogs can still come under the verandah. So because we will be out of here by the end of the year hopefully I don't want to do too much damage to put the fence/gates on the parts connecting the house. One section is about 3m wide over concrete and the other one is only about 1. I am going to get pool fence type stuff for those sections and get gates installed too but was wondering what is the most non destructive way we can put them in. I am guessing the end is going to have to get drilled into the side of the house and the fence that is on the 1m bit can go straight into the ground but I don't know what to do with the fence sitting across the 3 meters, are we going to have to drill a bit into the concrete floor. I don't want to cause too much hurt to the place. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Re: Putting a temporary fence up 2Feb 06, 2010 9:21 pm Hi We hired some temporary fencing to keep my daughter's Rotty contained during the build. It was about $600 or so for six months for quite a large area. Can be moved around fairly easily if necessary and it can include a 'gate' section. We also got the dog wire for under it; basically some meshed attached to the bottom. It wasn't necessary for such a large dog as he couldn't get under it anyway. It's about 2 metres or so high. We got it through Temporary Fence Hire. Based at Kingston, I think, but we are northside and that wasn't a problem. Jan DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Are you doing this with a building permit?
