Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 31, 2010 11:29 am We had our PCI recently and one of the things I picked up on, was a mark on our oven. On the top left corner, there is a small dent. Our site supervisor said he has to speak to his supervisor about this, now if I were to go to a shop and purchase an oven, I can be pretty certain that I would not be paying full price for an item that is not 'perfect'. So in the event that they come back and say they can't do anything about it, I would like some advice on what to do or say. This is our first home that we have built and like everyone, a lot of hardwork and money has gone into achieving our 'dream' of owning a home. Thanks. The easiest thing to do would be to accept this compensation, but ONLY if you are comfortable with it, and the defect wont bother you. Re: A question about an oven. 3Jan 31, 2010 11:47 am Just insist it be replaced - and don't pay the final payment until it is. You're paying for a new home with new, perfect appliances. Not scratched or dented seconds... Re: A question about an oven. 4Jan 31, 2010 1:02 pm Something like that would bother me so I'd do as Kek said and insist it be replaced! Most likley it will be a simple call for them and it probably wont even cost then a cent. As it would be covered under the warrenty. I had some scratches on my new oven(on the handle) which I bought six months ago and installed them a few weeks ago. Anyway one call to electrolux and they had some one out in five days. It would have been less expect they need to order the replacement part which took that time. Anway they came and changed the part without even asking for the receipt. Was pretty happy about that.
