Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 26, 2010 10:56 pm I was just having a look on the HIA website and the 2009 NSW Home of the Year caught my eye... it looked vaguely like Bulwarra, a historic sandstone home in Hunters Hill that was purchased by Cate Blanchett in 2004. Sure enough, after doing a bit of quick research I found that the 2009 NSW Home of the Year was in fact that of Blanchett and her family. So a big kudos goes to Cate, for undertaking an eco-friendly renovation and breathing new life into the circa 1877 sandstone mansion. For those of you who may be interested, you can read more about Cate's house (and sticky-beak at some great pictures) on the Alvaro Bros Builders webiste: http://www.alvarobros.com.au/projects_HH.html (just click on an image to the right to load the album) I think they, Alvaro Bros, officially take out the HIA award as they were to contractors engaged by Blanchett - So kudos to the Alvaro Bros team as well!!
