Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 03, 2007 3:35 pm Dear All,
Just thought of doing decking using Composite Decking material (e.g. http://www.modwood.com.au/). Is anyone used it before and what are your thoughts or feedback. It's quite dearer compare to traditional decking material (e.g. Merbau or treated pine) but is it worthwhile except it save lots of tree. It's look like composite deck are around 3 times costlier then Merbau wood. Can anyone give me some idea if used it before and which brand is good and have you find it better then traditional decking. Thanks guys, regards, Hardy Re: How good is composite decking?? 2Aug 03, 2007 4:30 pm Hey Hardy,
Check out this link... http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=1957 Got plenty on the subject. Also another one of our plans once the house is finished. Cheers, Mike. Timber decks (esp. without cover) require ongoing coating and cleaning to keep in tip-top shape, so the cost is probably even after a few years.
Composite decking can also be used over a wider joist spacing than the 450mm needed for timber. Hi, as per the subject. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best value decking oil (Bunning is close to where I live) for a treated pine deck? Thanks 0 10974 Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home.
