Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 27, 2007 11:46 pm Hi,
We have just purchased a 50's house, but it's had a number of additions & renovation done over the years. There has been a really nice leadlight door & side panels installed, weatherboard outside & dark timber floors inside. The internal walls are pretty *******, cement sheeting (probably AC Fibro) & ply board mixed together. We are toying with the idea of covering these walls with timber panelling up to about 2m (ceiling height 2.7m) with picture rails. The leadlight is kind of federation style & we thought the timber panel walls might give the room an bit more of an authentic feel, abit more character, rather than just gyprocking the whole room. Anyone with a story to tell about installing this type of product? Cheers Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15904 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6128 The most likely cause of your timber swelling (parquetry?) is either a plumbing leak or carelessly leaving water on floors after use or both. Without seeing, i am ignoring… 1 3276 |
