In fact they charge less than I do….and I’m $2 off the said amount you quoted. Usually somewhere between $40 to possibly $60 ph. That’s where I live anyway. Good luck finding out! Ring around your area, see what they all charge. Uh, yeah, what DO you charge now? By the way, I'm only after some basic light fittings to be installed. You know, spot/tracklights, oyster-light-looking-things and some external wall lights. And maybe some hardwiring with a timer for my heated towel rails. [sneakersss] Re: Electricals/Electricians 10Jul 26, 2007 5:30 pm What…..no spar???? [sneakersss] Re: Electricals/Electricians 12Jul 26, 2007 5:39 pm That’s a fight you have while you’re getting wet! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Electricals/Electricians 14Jul 26, 2007 5:41 pm re the sparky - look at it this way - most sparky jobs are advertised at paying the guys / gals $25 to $35 per hour as a contractor. So on top of that is the company costs - usually double what your paying your guys/gals -and your up to $50 or $60 and thats your starting point I'd suggest.
Best bet for that sort of work is find someone to moonlight on the weekend. Re: Electricals/Electricians 15Jul 26, 2007 5:41 pm YSSIM Michelle USED TO???? What do you charge now? And here I was thinking boats - spar - big bit of wood that holds the sails up - Must be the greeny in me that did it Mind you hanging off the back of sail boat 10km offshore is a pretty good spa too Not many sparkys around though - but they mightbe a few things that sound like it lurking below Re: Electricals/Electricians 19Jul 26, 2007 5:52 pm We have just had light fitings installed. Both of the electricians we spoke to charged by the type of light fitting rather than by the hour. e.g. $100 for a ceiling fan, $25 for a pendant etc. Our first quote was for $1450 - I nearly fainted! We found a friend of a friend to do it cheaper. I couldn't believe how expensive it was - I'm obviously in the wrong job! Re: Electricals/Electricians 20Jul 26, 2007 5:55 pm penjay I'm obviously in the wrong job! That's what I've been telling myself a lot lately... [sneakersss] |
