Yep. Ridiculous arrangement, having to do a loop-de-loop thingy and get on and off the highway. Cheapskates.

I guess one good thing is most people who use it would park on the craigieburn side so frees up the east side for us! It's zone 1 so it would be cheaper for me to travel.... but I think someone said that it's a BAD place to park your car. Any comment??? Contracted completion date 24 July 2010. What's today's date????? Re: Living in Doreen/ Mernda 53Jan 15, 2010 3:36 pm Helloween In reference to train stations... what about reservoir station? It's zone 1 so it would be cheaper for me to travel.... but I think someone said that it's a BAD place to park your car. Any comment??? It also takes quite a bit of time to get to. Because it's the start of zone 1, lots of people from suburbs a bit further out drive there, so the car parking can be a problem. I wouldn't leave my car in Reservoir anyway. Unless I wanted it stolen. Re: Living in Doreen/ Mernda 56Jan 15, 2010 8:54 pm Ari Dont park at Watsonia unless your car is a bomb that you dont care about seeing again. agreed. just don't leave anything on show in your car. Watsonia has one of the highest Theft-from and Theft-of motor vehicle rates in Victoria. <edited to add> gaining lots of info from discussion about transport in the area. DP and I both work in/near the city so we're taking notes on the best routes into town Re: Living in Doreen/ Mernda 57Jan 15, 2010 8:55 pm Ari Andy, maybe its time to leave the car at Watsonia or Reservoir? They broke in and stole my parking meter change money - but left the car Car number two - smashed windows and tried to start my car with the oil thingie (very car minded I am), but couldn't steer the car as I had a club lock on it, but were kind enough to leave my car in the middle of the parking bay blocking traffic. Here's me coming back home on a Friday thinking..."I don't remember parking my car like that). You would think the fact that the police were already there, and other cars were damaged would have alerted me Anyway, bought a new car, but DH took it to work, and I took his beaten up old car to the station! I started driving into work when I began part time though, I could never get a car park after 7.30! My house and my rants.... - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=26937 We are in!!!...and still unpacking. Thankfully there are always Tim Tams Re: Living in Doreen/ Mernda 59Jan 16, 2010 7:21 am We had an old bomb stolen from Lalor station years ago. Twice. We were spewing when the police found it the first time the insurance would have been quite handy... But we couldn't believe it when the same thing happened, same car, six months later. That time we didn't get it back, got a payout and came up with some extra cash to buy a newer car. Which didn't get left at the station. Re: Living in Doreen/ Mernda 60Jan 16, 2010 9:36 pm andy, thanks for ur info first. helloween, if u want to take the train at zone 1, maybe u can try driving to Heidelberg. My husband tried that sometimes. kek, well then maybe what my husband said is quite right. He won't leave any bags ( including the coles/safeway shopping bag) as he said the theft might think there might be treasures inside !
