Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Dec 23, 2009 3:19 pm Hi all, is anyone familiar with a product called "liquid drop sheet"? It is a pink liquid that is applied to concrete, plywood or particle board flooring as a temporary protection agains water, stains and dirt. I have used it before but I have never supplied it, and I can't remember its' product code (TC-85 or something). A search on the net found me a peelable liquid dropsheet that is applied as a liquid and can be peeled off. It's called "construct wrap peelable coating" w.multi!clad.com.au/p33lable_coating.html ). Looks O.K, but isn't exactly what I was after. If anyone knows anything (product code, suppliers etc.) about the pink liquid drop sheet I am talking about that would be appreciated. Intended application is for the temporary protection of garage slabs during construction of new homes. Thanks. Re: Liquid drop sheet 7Dec 30, 2009 8:01 pm Hey I have some pictures of the one we use in the US that i am looking to bring over to Aussie Has so many uses, Very thin and adheres to substrates very very well, We use it when we are installing our 2mm flexible concrete verneers, Once we have layed the tile we then grout and pull off the product giving you amazing clean ground lines I can post a pic if admin allows me too and you all want to see ? Re: Liquid drop sheet 8Dec 30, 2009 9:12 pm Evening, mornings! Anyway, do you know if the pink liquid would be a problem for future glue-style flooring ? It appears that it's easily (??) and fully peeled off, but what about any residue and potential incompatibility? Secondly, once you have applied it, how visible is it? Or does it just go transparent (I suppose it needs to be pink so that it can be peeled off) ? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Liquid drop sheet 9Dec 30, 2009 9:24 pm dont know about the pink stuff but let me help you wth experience one i have used Sprayed or brushed on wafer thin, Milky white and dries clear, sticks to almost anything and adheres with a good strong bond, i would not worry about it coming away, we normally cut it to open it up so we can peel it back It just looks like a natural flat/matt sealer Loads of different applications and where we use it is to protect substrate until we have finished working as paints, oils and spill will not penetrate Does not really leave a residue oreso just need a scrub or clean before over coating, we normally apply a functional breatable sealer after we have removed Very cool stuff Re: Liquid drop sheet 10Dec 30, 2009 9:33 pm OK, getnewlookjason, thanks. So, is that product OK for plywood flooring?? Can we peel it off without damaging the boards? And is it totally "invisible"? And, of course, what's the name (or PM me if you prefer)? Re: Liquid drop sheet 11Dec 30, 2009 9:59 pm HI Lex One of my projects invloves wood so i will get one of the guys to place some on wood Have to tell you im still sorting out possible distribution avenues for the market, We call it Peel Coat but its a lot thinner than normal stuff you would find on lathe tool and delicate machinery Ill try to get a couple of pics on here OK here is the Peel already applied, in this situation its already on our verneers before we install and grout Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Next step is removing the peel Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Last is finished result, we use it to give us super clean grout lines and stop any damage whilst installation taking place Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hope this help you out and explains a lil more Regards Re: Liquid drop sheet 12Dec 31, 2009 6:46 am Oh, this is beautiful!! I really like that style and finish, especially for larger areas. Back to the topic. So the film seems clear, at least on this type of surface and on pics. I assume that it doesn't stick like crazy to the surface - otherwise it could damage the top layer if the material is not that compact. It will be good to see how it performs on timber, but especially on plywood because it has edges that can easily be damaged if something stick to them really hard. Thanks for the update! Can we buy that product here?? Is it costly? Do we need to buy special applicators for it?? BTW, wouldn't we all benefit from our builders doing this common sense thing and protecting the work that's already done. It seems that the cost of the product and applying it and then taking it off waaaaay outweighs the benefits (for the builder). My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ...
