Hi all, My wife and i bought a block of land in August of peet in the tarneit rise, the stage is not ready to build on just yet, i was told if i start building by 30 march ill get the 32k grant ( I HAVE BEEN APPROVED) i signed the builders contract on the 30 sep, The main problem i have now is the land people are telling me it wont be ready until april, does that mean we miss the 32k grant?
I was told the builders have to start 6 months after signing the contract for me to get the 32k grant......

You can apply to the SRO for an extension for the FHOG which is likely to be approved if you can show that the delays are legitimate (letters from developer and builder) and also that IF the land had titled on time that it was a reasonable expectation that you could have had a slab down within 26 weeks of signing the building contract. We are in the process of applying for the extension ourselves and am waiting for a response.
